What Makes Tree Work More (or Less) Expensive?
What increases cost
- Tree size & height: A 100-ft oak costs dramatically more than a 20-ft ornamental tree
- Proximity to structures: Working near your home, garage, power lines, or fences requires more precision and time
- Access limitations: Tight fences, soft ground, or no driveway access can add equipment or labor costs
- Specialized equipment: Some removals require a crane — that adds to cost but is sometimes the only safe option
- Emergency / after-hours: 24/7 availability comes at a premium, but it's available when you need it
What decreases cost
- Easy access: Open yard with good equipment access = lower labor cost
- Smaller trees: Size is the single biggest factor — smaller trees are simpler and faster
- Open space: No structures nearby means less precision required
- Bundling multiple trees: Getting multiple trees done in one visit saves on setup and mobilization
- Non-emergency timing: Standard scheduling lets us plan efficiently, which saves everyone money

An Honest Word About Budget
We have a $500 minimum on all tree work (stump grinding excluded — $100 minimum per stump). Removing trees safely requires proper insurance, real equipment, and trained people — and that costs money.
We'd rather be honest about that upfront than win a job we can't do right. If you hire an uninsured crew to save $150 and they damage your fence or roof, you'll end up paying far more to fix it.
