The short answer:
Tree removal in Columbia and Franklin, TN starts at a $500 minimum and ranges up to $3,000+ for large, complex removals. Most homeowners pay between $700 and $1,500 for a standard mid-size tree.
Why We Publish Our Prices
Most tree service companies refuse to give you a price range until they're standing in your yard. We think that's backwards. You're trying to make a budget decision, and you deserve real information to do it. So here it is.
Price Ranges by Tree Size
Young trees, ornamental trees, small fruit trees with easy access
Typical suburban trees — medium oaks, maples, pines in standard locations
Mature hardwoods, large pines, trees with moderate structural challenges
Old-growth trees, trees over structures, crane required, emergency situations
7 Factors That Affect Your Price
- 1Tree Size & Height: The single biggest factor. A 100-ft white oak costs dramatically more to remove than a 25-ft ornamental tree. Taller trees require more equipment, more time, and more precision.
- 2Proximity to Structures: If the tree is near your home, garage, fence, or power lines, we have to work more carefully — piece by piece in some cases. That takes more time and skill, which affects price.
- 3Access: Can we get a truck or equipment to the tree? A tree in an open backyard with a wide gate is much easier to work than one surrounded by other trees with no equipment access.
- 4Tree Condition: Dead or diseased trees can be unpredictable — they can drop branches without warning. We factor additional safety precautions into the price when a tree is structurally compromised.
- 5Number of Trees: Getting multiple trees done in one visit saves on setup and mobilization time. We factor this in and it usually means each tree costs less than it would individually.
- 6Stump Grinding: Stump grinding is a separate service and not included in tree removal pricing by default. Ask us to quote both together — bundling usually saves money.
- 7Timing & Urgency: Emergency service (middle of the night, tree on roof) commands a premium. Standard scheduling is always the most economical option.
Example Scenarios
Small backyard tree, easy access
25-ft ornamental tree, open yard, no nearby structures
Medium oak in typical suburban yard
50-ft oak, standard access, away from structures
Large pine near fence
65-ft pine, standard equipment access, careful work near fence line
Large oak over driveway/garage
70-ft+ oak requiring piece-by-piece removal, rigging to protect structure
The Budget Reality Check
We have a $500 minimum on all tree work. Removing trees safely requires proper insurance, real equipment, and trained people. We'd rather be honest about that upfront than win a job we can't do right.
